Nicolas Chrétien’s Origins
Nicolas Chretien’s lifelong curiosity towards new technologies dates back to his childhood. Keeping abreast of computer and internet trends was a constant interest of his while he studied Computer Programming in College. Over the summer break, he got a great student job that allowed him to travel and sharpen his second language skills: English. When he returned, his broadening horizons shifted his interest to the entertainment industry.
An Entrepreneur at Heart
Nicolas worked his way from the bottom to the top, perfecting skills that would become the core of his expertise: management, business development, and marketing.
In 2001, Nicolas decided to go back to school, this time to study Web Design. Fully motivated, Nicolas graduated at the top of his class. Then, he created his first self-operated joke website, which was one of the earliest websites to integrate embedded videos.
The History of Crakmedia
In 2006, Crakmedia Network was incorporated, and it was then that Nicolas encountered a challenging time with the explosion of Youtube.com. This major player in tube sites resulted in a sizable loss in traffic. Yet, the site was still thriving, so much so that a notorious entrepreneur offered Nicolas Chrétien and his partners $250,000 in exchange for the rights to his company. Nicolas declined the offer and pressed forward, creating a tube site that was one of the first of its kind.
In 2007, Nicolas was working as a Business Development Consultant for an influential ad network. His consulting role helped him master his skills in business promotion and harness the keys to effective media buying strategies. He used what he learned about the industry, and he decided to do things differently.
With 20 years of experience in the industry, Nicolas Chretien is still bursting with ideas. As the Co-Founder and CEO of Crakmedia, Nicolas likes to say, “I do what I love.” No truer words have ever been spoken. Over the years, he has networked with key industry players around the world and has enjoyed sharing insight with them. In a congested industry, Nicolas didn’t see competitors as enemies but rather as partners.
